Talkback 2013 Call for scripts

Talkback 2013
New Writer Support Programme
Call for new scripts

Are you a South Asian woman with something to say through writing for performance?  Then Kali wants to hear from you.  We are looking for original and innovative short and full length theatre scripts.

Our successful Talkback Readings showcase a diverse range of new writing by South Asian women. We are planning our 2013 Season and are inviting South Asian women writers and aspiring writers to submit a play for Talkback 2013.

From the scripts submitted, writers will be chosen to join Kali’s Writer’s Development Programme, which includes 10 fortnightly writing workshops in London, discussions with guest writers & dramaturgs and 1-1 dramaturgical support, culminating in a public reading of selected works. Last year's Talkback Readings were held at Soho Theatre.

All submitted plays must be original and not previously published or performed professionally. They can be about any subject you want to explore but we usually prioritise plays about issues or with characters of relevance to the South Asian Diaspora.

They chould be between approximately 30mins and 1.5hrs long. They must be capable of being presented by no more than 5 actors. We may choose to develop and present just a section of a full length script.

They must be printed in black, single sided, double spaced and unbound.

Deadline: Scripts must reach Kali by
Wednesday 27 February 2013

Please send two hard copies of your play to:
