Singh Tangos centres the Singhs, a Indian family living in Britain. Mr Singh encourages his wife to join a local dance class to help her integrate into the local community, but quickly becomes weary of her new hobby. Mrs Singh discovers the liberating effect of dancing and pursues dance competitions, to her family’s dismay. Her son, an aspiring doctor, and her daughter, a woman demanding an arranged marriage, disapprove of her new found passion.

Singh Tangos deals with the difficult issue of fitting-in and acquiring a sense of belonging in a new place.
