Reimagining theatre, building a future: Join the board of Kali Theatre
Under the Artistic Direction of Aisha Zia, Kali is redefining not just what stories are told, but how they are told, and who gets to shape the form itself.
For us, theatre is not simply words on a page. It is a living, breathing experience, a space where thought, meaning, and feeling converge. This shift is about restoring agency to artists, creating conditions for stronger, bolder writing to emerge, and offering audiences work that feels exciting and alive to the cultural moment.
To realise this vision, we are seeking new trustees who share our conviction in the power of theatre to transform lives and who are ready to help us build a sustainable, nationally networked future.

The Role
As a Trustee, you will act as an ambassador, advocate, and champion for Kali Theatre. You will work alongside fellow trustees to ensure the charity's effective governance and long-term sustainability, while playing a proactive role in supporting our ambitious growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Governance and Strategy: Uphold the principles of good governance and ensure the financial health and resilience of the organisation. Contribute to the charity's future strategic direction, including the rollout of our new "Kali Hubs" national network and the launch of our Friends of Kali patron scheme.
Fundraising and Ambassadorial: Proactively support our fundraising ambitions by acting as an advocate for Kali Theatre within your networks.
